Frequently Asked Questions

What is a truffle?

A truffle is a bite-sized confection made of a chocolate shell filled with ganache. Our ganache is an emulsion of melted chocolate and cream that results in a smooth, creamy, delicious center to our truffles.

How long do the confections last?

For optimum enjoyment, all of our confections should be stored in a cool (60-70 F), dry place away from sunlight. We recommend storing our products in an airtight container once they are opened. Under these conditions, our truffles are best enjoyed within 4 weeks of purchasing. Our chocolate bars and other solid chocolates will last 6-8 months. Our toffies, caramel popcorn, candied nuts, and brittles typically last 3-4 months. All of our products come with Best By dates noted on their packaging. Products that have been correctly stored are still perfectly safe to eat for a few weeks after their Best By date, though there may be slight reductions in freshness and quality.

Can I put chocolate in the fridge or freezer?

We do not recommend storing our non-chocolate confections in the fridge or freezer. While refrigeration is not required for our chocolates, we suggest the following method if you choose to store chocolates in the fridge or freezer:

Refrigerator

1. Place the chocolates in the smallest airtight container possible and place in the fridge

2. Before enjoying, remove the container from the fridge and let it sit unopened at room temperature for 8+ hours to avoid condensation on the chocolate. Enjoy!

Freezer

1. Place the chocolates in the smallest airtight container possible and place in the fridge for 24 hours

2. Transfer the container into the freezer for up to 3 months

3. Before enjoying, transfer the unopened container back to the fridge for 24 hours

4. Remove the container from the fridge and let it sit unopened at room temperature for 8+ hours to avoid condensation on the chocolate. Enjoy!

What about allergens?

All of our products are produced in a kitchen and with equipment that processes milk, soy, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, and occasionally eggs and sesame. While we take precautions to minimize cross contact, customers with allergies should enjoy our confections at their own risk. Ingredients and allergens in each of our products are listed on their respective product pages and on the packaging of each product.

Where do you get your chocolate?

We exclusively use natural origin Belgian couverture chocolate for all of our truffles and chocolate bars. Couverture chocolate contains at least 32% cocoa butter - the natural fat found in cacao beans - which ensures a smooth melt, superior flavor, and creamy mouthfeel. Our Belgian chocolate is free of added oils, fats, and fillers, and our cacao is ethically and sustainably sourced from West African farmers and meticulously processed to ensure the highest quality product for you.
